The smaller brother to the original Canon C300, the C100 has a lovely super 35mm sensor with 12 stops of dynamic range, it also inherit's the C300's form factor and many of its useful features, making the C100 a lot of camera for the price. For those looking to step up their game from shooting with DSLRs or Mirrorless cameras, the C100 has a lot to offer, making it a great choice for weddings and events requiring a more cinematic look, and lower budget corporate videos.
Using Canon's extremely popular EF Moutn system, the C100 works with a huge variety of lenses for every situation. The built in neutral ND filters mean you can take advantage of fast apertures to achieve a cinematic shallow depth of field even in bright lighting conditions.
A pair of XLR audio inputs mean you can use a wide variety of professional microphones with withe C100, and easily monitor and control the levels from the camera.
The limited HD 4:2:0 codecs mean the C100 benefits greatly from the addition of an external recorder thanks to its clean HDMI output, especially when shooting C-Log gamma. However the built internal recording is perfectly adequate for most web video.
