The Sachtler Video 20 is a professional fluid head tripod system designed for medium to heavy camera packages, with a payload range of approximately 5kg to 28kg. Building on the hugely successful Video 18, it offers greater payload capacity while retaining the smooth operation and reliability that have made Sachtler tripods an industry standard.

More Information

The Video 20 is often considered the next step up from the classic Video 18 . Its higher maximum payload makes it well suited to larger cinema cameras fitted with long cine lenses, studio viewfinders, teleprompters, large matte boxes and extensive accessories. If you're building a fully rigged Cinema Camera or large broadcast camera package, the Video 20 provides the additional support needed without sacrificing fluid movement.

However, bigger isn't always automatically better. The Video 20 also has a higher minimum payload than the Video 18, meaning lighter camera packages may not balance as effectively. For smaller cameras such as the Sony FX6 , FX5 , or Red Komodo  the Video 18 or Miller Compass 25  can often provide a better overall shooting experience. Choosing the right tripod is about matching it to the weight of your camera build, rather than simply opting for the largest available.

Like all of our professional Sachtler systems, the Video 20 is supplied with a mid-level spreader, making it far easier to use on uneven terrain, steps, woodland and other challenging locations than tripods fitted with ground spreaders. Combined with Sachtler's renowned fluid drag and counterbalance system, it delivers exceptionally smooth pan and tilt movement in almost any environment.

For productions running larger camera packages that need uncompromising stability and reliability, the Sachtler Video 20 remains one of the industry's most trusted support systems. It's a natural choice for high-end television, broadcast and feature film productions where heavy camera builds are the norm.
