The remote mounts directly onto your Sony camera's Multi Interface (MI) hot shoe, allowing you to trigger one or multiple Profoto lights without the need for cables. Once connected, Sony's TTL metering can automatically calculate flash exposure, making it particularly useful when working in changing lighting conditions or photographing fast-moving subjects. It's an excellent choice for portrait, fashion, commercial and event photography where speed and consistency are important.
For photographers who prefer complete creative control, switching to Manual mode is just as straightforward. Flash power can be adjusted directly from the transmitter, allowing you to increase or decrease the output of individual light groups without returning to each light. This makes workflow much more efficient, particularly when lights are positioned high on stands or spread around a large studio.
The Air Remote TTL-S also supports High-Speed Sync (HSS) with compatible Sony cameras, allowing flash to be used at shutter speeds beyond the normal flash sync limit. This makes it possible to shoot with wide apertures in bright daylight while maintaining a shallow depth of field, or to freeze fast-moving action using flash outdoors.
