The 416 is a staple directional Boom Microphone for Film, Television and Corporate and Commercial work. It has high quality audio and is very directional, so pointing it directly at the person talking eliminates a good percentage of background audio, making it ideal for interviews in a fast paced environment such as vox pops.
It's qually useful for more controlled scenarios as well though. You can mount it it on a Boom Pole for overhead booming, or from a C Stand kit if the placement is static. You can also put it on a standard Microphone Stand for sit-down interviews.
