Nikon AIS Lens Set - EF

The Nikon AIS lenses have long been popular with filmmakers thanks to their mechanical manual focus and straightforward operation. Our set has been cine modded specifically for professional camera setups, making the lenses much more practical to use with follow focus systems and other cinema accessories. The consistent feel and familiar manual operation make them particularly useful when you’re working with a dedicated camera team rather than relying on autofocus.

The focal lengths cover a useful range from wide-angle establishing shots through to longer portrait and detail work. The 20mm and 24mm are particularly useful for wide interiors, landscapes and establishing shots, while the 35mm and 50mm provide the more natural focal lengths you’ll find yourself reaching for regularly. The 85mm and 135mm then give you useful options for portraits, compressed perspectives and picking out detail from further away.

As the lenses are Canon EF mount they can be fitted directly to compatible Canon cameras, but equally an excellent option for Sony cameras when used with a Metabones EF-E adapter, giving you access to the same set across different camera systems.

As with any manual-focus cine setup, there’s no autofocus here, but that’s very much the point. The mechanical focus gives the operator direct, predictable control and works naturally with professional follow focus systems.

There’s also a 15mm lens available to hire, either on its own or as an additional lens to complete the set and give you an even wider option.
