The GoPro HERO11 Black is hugely popular with amateurs and enthusiasts for holidays, travel and action sports, but it is also regularly used professionally where a small, tough and versatile camera is needed. It shoots up to 5.3K, 4K 120fps and is waterproof to 10m without a housing, making it useful in places larger cameras simply can't go.
More Information
The HERO11 is the sort of camera that is useful whether you're taking it skiing on holiday or attaching it to a car, bike, vehicle rig or piece of equipment on a professional production. Its small size and 154g weight mean it can be mounted in places where a conventional camera would be impractical, while its rugged construction and waterproofing make it much less precious about being exposed to the elements.
Whilst it's not the newest offering in the GoPro range, it's still incredibly popular and a great way of capturing stunning footage; with very similar technical specifications to the newest model (Hero 13 ) but just missing the improved stabilisation and a few QOL improvements the 13 introduced.
For professional work, the appeal is really its versatility rather than trying to replace a proper cinema camera. GoPros are regularly used for POV shots, vehicle work, action sequences, behind-the-scenes footage, stunts and unusual camera positions. The wide field of view and built-in HyperSmooth 5.0 stabilisation also make it useful when you need a stable image from a camera that can't easily accommodate a conventional support system.
The HERO11 uses a 1/1.9" sensor and can record up to 5.3K at 60fps, with 4K available up to 120fps for slow-motion work. It can also record 10-bit video in a number of its higher-resolution modes, while the 8:7 sensor format gives plenty of flexibility when reframing footage for different aspect ratios.
The camera is waterproof to 10m without a housing and uses a removable Enduro battery. It records to microSD cards and has the built-in folding mounting fingers that make attaching it to GoPro mounts particularly straightforward.
