With a similar form factor to its ground breaking predecessor, the Canon C300 mkii adds 4K recording, 120fps slow motion at 2K crop and a stunning 15 stops of dynamic range from its brand new super 35mm sensor.
Canon's follow up to the enormously popular C300, the Mark II version brings stunning 4K recording, and a massive 15 stops of dynamic range with a brand new super 35mm sensor. Following up with the same form factor, the C300 MKII has all the features that made the mark one popular, with built in ND filters, intuitive controls, and a high quality articulating LCD monitor. Combined with the wide range of quality EF mount lenses available, the C300 MKII is a great choice for a wide range of productions from high end corporate video to dramas and commercials.
The Mark Two also introduces the ultra high quality 4:4:4 10/12 bit internal recording for HD and 2K, ideal for productions requiring a higher quality image for intensive post production and graphical work. The internal 4K codec records 4:2:2 10bit files directly to the dual CFast card slots inside the camera, with the ability to output 4K RAW to an external recorder, giving you a choice of image quality depending on the needs of the production.
Although not offering as many high frame rate options as Sony's super 35mm range, the Canon C300 MKII is capable of producing up to 120fps in full HD or 2K using the cameras centre crop.
Canon's Dual Pixel AF system makes the C300 mkii a good choice for gimbal work, as striped back to just the body it's a light and compact unit. The C300's automatic face detection is another useful feature, particularly for solo gimbal operators without the luxury of a focus puller.
