Our sister company Media Dog have been experimenting with the Ronin 4D and have created a host of additional lens options, which will also be available to us here at Kit Cabin.
On the search for a more 'vintage feel', they combined the Ronin 4D 6K with a set of vintage Minolta Rokkor lenses, which are lightweight enough to work with the 4D without compromising quality, and produce a beautiful soft vintage feel.
The Rokkors have been cine modded to support the follow focus functionality and the mount changed to a E-Mount, which the Ronin can also be converted to using an R-Mount to E-Mount adapter.
With the E-Mount conversion on the Ronin, the 4D can also then utilise a host of Sony G Master lenses, such as the 24mm , 50mm, or 85mm telephoto. For super wide shots the 14mm ultra wide also works brilliantly. The G Masters provide a much cleaner crisp look, however do add a bit more weight than the DJI standard lenses.
The versatility of this camera is something which has really set it apart from competitors. Never before has the ease of an all-in-one gimbal and camera stabilised solution produced images worthy of top-end Netflex and Film releases, whilst also not limiting look and style to a single fixed lens option.
When hiring the DJI Ronin 4D 6K you may find the message says to contact us for availability, this is because of this flexibility with the kit meaning it is better spec'd depending on your shoot requirements. Please contact us and we can set you up with a brilliant stabilised solution for your production, shoot or event.
