Graduated ND filters are used to properly expose and preserve detail in the sky as well as to add stylistic effect. They require a matte box with a rotating 4x4 inch filter tray.

Graduated neutral density filters are darkest at one edge and taper to clear at the middle, allowing you to darken one side of the image. Soft Edge ND filters are ideal for controlling bright skies, preserving details in clouds, while correctly exposing the rest of the image. They can also be used stylistically to add a vignette type effect to one side of the image.
Our 4x4 Soft Edge Graduated ND Filter kit includes a 0.3, a 0.6 and a 0.9 ND filter, reducing light transition by one, two and three stops respectively.
The flat optical glass used in our Graduated ND filters doesn't affect the image, other than reducing light transition on one edge of the picture.
These filters require a matte box with a rotating 4x4 inch filter tray to position them in front of the lens.
